This notice explains how Caledonian Roofing and Building("we", "us") handles personal information collected through this website. It is written to meet the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
Who We Are
Caledonian Roofing and Building is a sole trader business at Arabesque, Selby Road, Askern, Doncaster DN6 0ES. We are the controller of the personal information described in this notice. You can reach us on 0800 158 8520 or at [email protected].
What We Collect
When you send a quote or contact form, we collect what you enter: your name, phone number, email address, postcode, the service you need and any message you add. When you call or email us, we receive your contact details and anything you choose to send, such as photos of your property.
Calls to our business number are connected through a call-routing service, which records the number you called from and the date, time and length of the call.
How We Use It & Our Lawful Basis
- To answer your enquiry, prepare your quote and arrange the work. The lawful basis is taking steps you have asked for before a contract.
- To carry out the work and keep a record of it. The lawful bases are performing our contract with you, our legitimate interest in running the business, and our legal obligations (for example, tax records).
- We do not use your details for marketing unless you have agreed to it.
Who We Share It With
- Digital Five, our website provider, delivers form submissions to us by email using the Postmark service and keeps an archive copy of each enquiry so that none is lost. Access to that archive is restricted.
- Digital Five also provides our business phone number, and calls to it pass through its call-routing service, which keeps the call record described above.
- Cloudflare hosts this website and checks form submissions for spam with Cloudflare Turnstile.
- Google provides Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager. If you accept analytics cookies, Google receives details of your visit to this site.
- We may share details with an accountant or professional adviser, or where the law requires us to.
- We never sell your information, and we do not pass it to list brokers or marketing companies.
How Long We Keep It
Enquiry details are kept for as long as they are needed to deal with your enquiry. Where we carry out work for you, the records of that work are kept for as long as the law requires business and tax records to be kept. Personal information we no longer need is then deleted.
Cookies & Third-Party Content
A cookie banner provided by Digital Five records your cookie choices, and asks for your consent before any non-essential cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link on the site. Without your consent, this website uses only what is strictly necessary for it to work:
- the cookies that record your cookie choice: d5cmp_consent, which stores it (12 months), and d5cmp_uid, an anonymous identifier that links your consent record and does not identify you (24 months);
- Cloudflare, which hosts the site and checks form submissions for spam (Cloudflare Turnstile);
- the map of the area we cover, which is drawn from OpenStreetMap map images. Your browser fetches them directly from the OpenStreetMap Foundation, which receives your IP address to send them and handles it under its own privacy policy. The map sets no cookies.
If you accept analytics cookies, the site also loads Google Analytics through Google Tag Manager, to count visits and see which pages people use. Google Analytics sets the _ga and _ga_* cookies (13 months), which tell visits apart without identifying you by name, and Google receives your IP address and details of your visit. It never loads unless you accept analytics cookies, and you can withdraw that at any time in the cookie settings. We do not use advertising pixels on this website.
Your Rights
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. You can also ask us to restrict or stop using it, ask for it to be passed to someone else, and withdraw your cookie consent at any time. To make a request, call 0800 158 8520, email [email protected] or use the contact form. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
